Dexafort 50 ml

Dexafort 50 ml. is a hormonal drug. It is used to treat inflammatory processes and diseases that have allergic and autoimmune etiology. Dexafort is a synthetic analogue of cortisone. As an active substance, 1 ml of the drug contains 2.67 mg. dexamethasone finylpropionate and 1.32 mg. dexamethasone sodium phosphate.

Dexafort has anti-inflammatory, anti-edematous, anti-allergic, desensitizing effect. The mechanism of action is to inhibit the release of inflammatory mediators by eosinophils and mast cells. Dexamethasone acts at all stages of the inflammatory process, increases the resistance of the cell membrane to various damaging factors. Dexafort stimulates steroid lymphocyte receptors, promoting the formation of lipocortins, which have anti-edematous effect. Inhibits the proliferation of lymphoid tissue and cellular immunity, disrupts the kinetics of T – lymphocytes, reduces their cytotoxic activity. The drug has a rapid and prolonged effect.

Action:

The drug is administered intramuscularly. The maximum concentration in blood plasma is reached in 60 minutes after administration. Therapeutic concentration in blood plasma is maintained for 30-96 hours, depending on the species. Bioavailability when administered intramuscularly is 100%.

Dosage and method of application:

Cattle and horses – 10 ml / once

Goats, pigs, foals – 1-3 ml / once

Dogs – 0.5-1 ml / once

Cats – 0.2.5-5 ml / once

If necessary, the drug is used again after 7 days.

Side effects:

– increased urination

– insatiable thirst

– excessive consumption of food

– with prolonged use, Cushing’s syndrome may occur

– the use of corticosteroids to stimulate childbirth reduces the viability of the fetus.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. It is forbidden to use in the last trimester to pregnant females, as it can lead to premature birth and abortion. Do not use in animals with viral and fungal diseases, diabetes, osteoporosis, kidney disease and heart failure. With special care to enter animals in the first and second trimesters.

Special instructions: dairy products are forbidden to use 5 days after administration of Dexafort, meat products are allowed to be eaten in 48 hours.

Storage conditions: store out of reach of children and animals, separately from food at a temperature of 15-25 C. Shelf life 5 years from the date of manufacture. After opening, the bottle is suitable for 8 weeks.
